The conference will start in:
Food, its quality and safety, is one of the crucial issues in social and economic policies. Therefore, in Poland the food production industry is one of the National Intelligent Specialisations (KIS 2 – Innovative technologies, processes and products of the agri-food and forestry and timber sector). High-quality food is a smart specialisation of the Lubelskie voivodeship in accordance with the Regional Innovation Strategy of the Lublin Province until 2030, and automated food processing and functional food is a smart specialisation of Lublin included in the Lublin 2030 Strategy.
In Europe, the food industry is the largest production and employment sector. On the other hand, a healthy society and prevention of health is one of the main development priorities. Therefore legislation on food safety is very strongly harmonised at European Union level and is one of the pillars of health protection.
Ensuring food safety requires a holistic approach to the entire food chain, from obtaining high-quality crops and feed to appropriate production technology and a secure marketing network.
Therefore, food in this perspective will be the focus of the next in the series international conferences dedicated to advanced technologies – LubTech Smart Food 2023, which will take place on 15 November 2023 at the Lublin Conference Centre.
The conference is organised by the Lublin Municipality and the Marshal’s Office of the Lubelskie Voivodeship, which are involved in cooperation with the socio-economic environment, inter alia under the initiative of the Lublin Medicine Cluster, which brings together more than 170 entities related to the broadly defined health sector.
Conference is co-organised by Life Science University of Lublin and Medical University of Lublin in partnership with other universities and research insititutes from the Cluster.
Smart food is food adapted to current and future trends in the area of health, food and nutrition, in line with the expectations of the market and consumers, throughout the entire cycle of the values of a circular economy, from soil, cultivation, fertilisation, production technology, product (including packaging) to market distribution and waste management.
During the conference, we will present the competences of key entities in this area from Lublin and the Lublin Voivodeship: universities, research institutes and companies, providing examples of key projects implemented by them and the scope of cooperation in the region, in the country and with partners from abroad.
We will present their research potential, laboratory offer and scope of accreditation, as well as their success stories in terms of building partnerships and cooperation in the area of innovation.
